Jack Louis Fox (born 17 September 1985) is an English actor who played Ralph in Fresh Meat.

Early life[edit]

Fox was born to actor James Fox and Mary Elizabeth Piper in London, England. He is the younger brother of Thomas, Laurence, Robin, and Lydia Fox, as well as the nephew of producer Robert Fox and actor Edward Fox (father to Emilia and Freddie). He went to preparatory school at the Milbourne Lodge School, from there he attended The King's School, Canterbury. Following that he attended the University of Leeds studying philosophy and theology, gaining a 2:1.

Jack Fox is a British stage and screen actor, best known for his roles in the Oscar nominated, BAFTA winning feature Theeb, the Golden Globe nominated National Geographic series Genius, with Geoffrey Rush and Johnny English starring Rowan Atkinson. His credits also include Fresh Meat, Dracula, Mr. Selfridge. He made his west end debut opposite his father, James Fox, in Dear Lupin (UK Tour, West End). Most recently he can be seen opposite Will Arnett, Julia Styles, and Juliet Stevenson in Riviera (May 2019), and Andrew Davies's ITV/Masterpiece produced Sanditon opposite Theo James and Rose Williams (August 2019).


He is currently shooting Riviera season 3.

John Fox (April 24, 1953[citation needed] – May 30, 2012) was an American comedian.[1]

Life[edit]

John Fox was born John Edward Moore April 24, 1953 while his father was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He lived in Waukegan, Illinois until age 8 when the family moved to Zion, Illinois. The family returned to Waukegan when John was 13. He was an avid baseball player and was a lifelong Cubs fan.

Career[edit]

Fox's first show was on June 14, 1979 at the World Famous Comedy Store. Known as the Nick Nolte of comedy,[citation needed] Fox had numerous television appearances on shows, including Norm Crosby's Comedy Shop, Star Search, Make Me Laugh, and Showtime Comedy Club Network. He appeared in the stand-up videos Truly Tasteless Jokes and Comedy's Dirtiest Dozen. He voiced the role of a pig in the animated feature Rover Dangerfield. He had been featured on 'The Bob & Tom Show' and was the inspiration for the song 'The Legend of John Fox,' by Pat Godwin. Fox also appeared on Rodney Dangerfield's HBO special, Opening Night at Rodney's Place and the first Redneck Comedy Roundup DVD alongside comedians Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Ron White.

A popular part of Fox's routine was talking about his various previous jobs.

Death[edit]

Fox was diagnosed with colon cancer in October 2011. He died of complications from the cancer in May 2012 at the age of 59.[2]
